Preventative Maintenance Plan FAQ

Find answers to common questions about our Bronze, Silver, and Gold Preventative Maintenance Plans.

What is included with every plan?

Every Bronze, Silver, and Gold Plan includes:

  • One annual preventative maintenance visit
  • Written appliance health reports
  • Refrigerator temperature audit when applicable
  • Dryer airflow test when applicable
  • Maintenance reminders and service history
  • Priority scheduling over non-members whenever possible
  • A discount on qualifying non-warranty repair labor

Bronze members receive a 10% labor discount, Silver members receive 15%, and Gold members receive 20%.

What is the difference between the three plans?

The plans differ by the number of appliances covered, repair-labor discount, scheduling priority, and additional membership benefits.

  • Bronze: Up to 3 appliances
  • Silver: Up to 5 appliances
  • Gold: Up to 8 appliances
What does parts priority mean?

Parts priority is included with the Silver and Gold Plans. When an approved repair requires a replacement part, members receive preferred handling while the part is being identified, sourced, and ordered.

Parts priority does not guarantee that a part will be available or arrive by a specific date. Availability remains subject to manufacturers, distributors, shipping carriers, and inventory.

What is the energy-efficiency evaluation?

The energy-efficiency evaluation is included with the Silver and Gold Plans. We review the general operation and condition of the covered appliances for visible issues that may affect performance or energy use.

This service is not a formal whole-home energy audit and does not guarantee a reduction in utility costs.

What does locked-in pricing mean?

Locked-in pricing is included with the Silver and Gold Plans. The applicable repair-labor rate remains unchanged during the active membership term.

Locked-in pricing applies to labor rates only. It does not lock the price of parts, refrigerant, diagnostic charges, trip charges, taxes, or specialty services.

What does highest scheduling priority mean?

Gold members receive the highest scheduling preference whenever possible.

Priority scheduling does not guarantee same-day service. All appointments remain subject to technician availability, weather, parts availability, and existing service obligations.

What is a whole-home appliance evaluation?

The whole-home appliance evaluation is included with the Gold Plan. During the annual visit, we review the general condition and operation of all appliances covered under the plan.

We may identify visible wear, maintenance needs, performance concerns, or appliances that may require future attention.

What is an appliance life-expectancy report?

The appliance life-expectancy report is included with the Gold Plan. It provides a professional assessment of the general condition of each covered appliance and identifies equipment that may be approaching the later stages of its expected service life.

The report is an estimate based on age, visible condition, usage, and performance. It is not a guarantee of how long an appliance will continue operating.

What is included in the appliance upgrade consultation?

The appliance upgrade consultation is included with the Gold Plan. We can provide guidance when a covered appliance is nearing replacement or when you are considering an upgrade.

Consultation topics may include:

  • Appliance size and capacity
  • Available installation space
  • Electrical, gas, water, drainage, or ventilation needs
  • Useful appliance features
  • Energy-efficiency considerations
  • Possible installation concerns

The consultation does not include the purchase, delivery, removal, or installation of a new appliance.

Can I add more appliances to my plan?

Yes. Additional appliances may be added to any plan for $25 per appliance per year.

Every covered appliance must be listed on the service agreement with its description, model number, and serial number.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Monthly payment options are available:

  • Bronze: $12.42 per month
  • Silver: $20.75 per month
  • Gold: $29.08 per month

Monthly billing does not change the one-year membership term.

Do I save money by paying annually?

Yes. Customers who make one payment for the full year receive a 10% discount.

  • Bronze: $134 per year
  • Silver: $224 per year
  • Gold: $314 per year
Does the plan include repairs and replacement parts?

No. The plans cover routine preventative maintenance and membership benefits only.

The plans do not include:

  • Diagnostic service calls
  • Trip charges
  • Repair labor, except for the applicable member discount
  • Replacement parts
  • Refrigerant
  • Sealed-system repairs
  • Electronic control-board repairs

Any needed repairs will be explained and priced separately before repair work is performed.

Does the plan include dryer vent cleaning?

No. The included dryer airflow test checks airflow and may help identify a possible restriction, but it does not include cleaning the complete dryer vent system.

Professional dryer vent cleaning is available as an optional service. The standard charge is $150 and may be higher for unusually long, difficult, or inaccessible vents.

Does maintenance guarantee my appliance will not break down?

No. Preventative maintenance may help identify developing problems, improve appliance care, and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns, but it cannot guarantee that an appliance will not fail.

These plans are not warranties, insurance policies, or repair contracts.

How long does the plan last?

The initial membership term is one year from the date of acceptance and payment.

The plan automatically renews for additional one-year terms unless written notice of non-renewal is provided at least 30 days before expiration.

North West Appliances will provide a renewal notice, including current pricing and terms, at least 45 days before renewal. Payments are non-refundable for any unused portion of an active membership term.

How do I choose the right plan?

Water Filter Service Plan FAQ

Answers to common questions about our scheduled refrigerator water-filter service.

How many filter changes are included?

The annual Water Filter Service Plan includes two scheduled refrigerator water-filter replacement visits. Visits are normally scheduled approximately six months apart.

What is included at each service visit?

Each scheduled visit includes:

  • Filter compatibility verification
  • Professional filter installation
  • Proper system flushing
  • Filter-indicator reset when supported
  • Visual inspection for leaks
Is the replacement filter included?

The plan includes an allowance of up to $50 toward one compatible replacement filter at each scheduled visit.

If the required filter costs more than the included allowance, the customer is responsible for the remaining balance.

Can I request an original manufacturer filter?

Original equipment manufacturer filters may be available depending on the refrigerator model. If the selected filter costs more than the included allowance, the customer pays the difference.

Do you use compatible aftermarket filters?

A compatible aftermarket filter may be used when appropriate and approved by the customer. Availability, compatibility, certification, and price vary by refrigerator model.

Why does the refrigerator system need to be flushed?

A newly installed filter may release trapped air or loose carbon particles. Proper flushing prepares the filter for normal use and clears the refrigerator water system.

Will you reset the filter light?

Yes, when the refrigerator supports a filter-indicator reset and the reset procedure is accessible. Some refrigerators do not have an electronic filter reminder.

Will you check the refrigerator for leaks?

The technician will perform a visual leak check around the filter housing and accessible connections after installation.

This visual check is not a guarantee against future leaks or hidden plumbing problems.

What happens if a leak or damaged component is found?

The customer will be informed of any visible concern. Repairs to the filter housing, water valve, tubing, dispenser, ice maker, or plumbing are not included and require separate approval and pricing.

Does the plan cover my ice maker?

No. The plan covers scheduled refrigerator water-filter replacement. Ice-maker diagnosis and repair are separate services.

What if my refrigerator does not use a replaceable filter?

The standard plan is intended for refrigerators that use a replaceable water-filter cartridge. Refrigerators without a replaceable filter are not eligible for the standard service plan.

How many refrigerators are covered?

The standard plan covers one refrigerator at one residential service address. Additional refrigerators may require a separate plan or an additional annual charge.

What if I replace my refrigerator during the plan term?

Contact North West Appliances with the new refrigerator’s model and serial number. The filter requirements must be verified, and a price adjustment may apply if the new refrigerator uses a different or more expensive filter.

Can my filter be changed sooner than six months?

An early or additional replacement may be scheduled, but extra filters, labor, and service visits may be billed separately unless otherwise approved in writing.

What if I do not use both scheduled visits?

Unused scheduled visits expire at the end of the annual plan term and do not roll over unless stated otherwise in writing.

Are refrigerator repairs included?

No. The plan does not include:

  • Refrigerator diagnostic service
  • Water-line or filter-housing repairs
  • Water-valve repairs
  • Ice-maker or dispenser repairs
  • Household plumbing repairs
  • Correction of water-pressure or water-quality problems
Is the Water Filter Service Plan a warranty?

No. This is a scheduled maintenance and filter-replacement service. It is not a warranty, insurance policy, plumbing contract, or appliance repair agreement.

How much does the Water Filter Service Plan cost?

The annual Water Filter Service Plan is $229.99 for one refrigerator at one service address.

What information do you need when I enroll?
